placed its head in it, and turned its rear towards me. When I had entered the room upon it, it was unruly, turning aside, stretching its neck, and shaking its ears, terrorizing me with that. But I struck my hand to the back of its neck and led it, and it submitted with the utmost submission. The knife was in my right hand and it was standing on my left, looking at it. It was as Allah the Exalted said: {As if they are being driven to death while they look on.} I brought it out to the courtyard of the house. When my Master saw me coming out with it in my hand, he said to me: "Take your time, O Jaber, until your companions are complete."
Some of my brothers entered after me, while I was amazed at their entering the room when there was nothing in it—so from where would they take a sheep like I took? He did not tarry but a little before he came out, and in his hand was a he-goat like the he-goat in my hand. He said: "O Jaber, you have drawn near to Allah with the people of deviation and denial, those who established the firm mountains of tyranny and erected the structure of aggression in every age and time. By their misguidance, the people of confusion were led astray; by their denial, the people of aggression followed suit; and through them, idols were worshipped and statues were adopted. These are the ones who distorted the Book of Allah, deviated from His path, and desired their Satan when he forbade the Halal for them and made the Haram lawful for them. These, O Jaber, are the Companions of the Aqabah of the Dibab, who plotted the plot that was plotted. And the Companions of the One of the Camel and the One Led upon the Camel, who bore false witness on the Day of al-Haw'ab when the dogs barked until the term (death) hastened to its end. So Allah made them taste the heat of His sword age after age and era after era. He makes them taste killing and slaughter in every age according to the number of breaths they breathed in pursuit of their world and its goodness in the human and corporeal state, during their enjoyment of food and drink, their audacity in denial and rejection, and their feigning of injustice and aggression. Allah makes them taste what He makes them taste according to the number of those breaths that were in the state of their bliss."
I said: "O my Master, the Companions of the Aqabah of the Dibab are known, and the group knows their names and tribes. They are those whom the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family and give them peace) identified to Hudhayfa bin al-Yaman and his group, asking them to conceal their names from them. But who are those who bore false witness on the Day of al-Haw'ab?"
