The Messenger of Allah (may his glory be exalted) ordered a horned ram that treads in blackness, kneels in blackness, and looks in blackness. It was brought to him to sacrifice. He said to her: "O Aisha, bring the Mudya.1" Then he said: "Sharpen it with a stone." She did so. Then he took it, took the ram, laid it down, slaughtered it, and then said: "In the name of Allah, O Allah, accept from Muhammad, the family of Muhammad, and the Ummah of Muhammad." Then he sacrificed it.2

The news of the Seventy will come, and you will see, my faithful brother, the exact same description for this malicious ram. I wish, O believer, that you would ponder the subject of "blackness," for it is important; here is a clear reference to the Opponent (Al-Did) and the Darknesses.

On the authority of Abu Talha, he said: The Messenger of Allah (may his glory be exalted) sacrificed two black-and-white rams. He said at the first: "On behalf of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad." And he said at the second: "On behalf of those who believed in me and verified me from my Ummah."3

On the authority of Uthman bin Talha, the Messenger of Allah (may his glory be exalted) said: "I saw the horns of the ram when I entered the House [the Kaaba], but I forgot to order you to cover them; for it is not fitting that there should be anything in the House that distracts a person praying."4

The two horns of the ram existed from the time of the Master Muhammad (may his glory be exalted) until the time the House burned down, as stated in the history book Al-Bidaya wa al-Nihaya. Sufyan said: "The ram's horns remained in the House until the House burned, and they burned [with it]." Likewise, it was narrated from Ibn Abbas that the head of the ram remained hanging near the spout of the Kaaba having dried up.5

Our Master Assadiq (may his glory be exalted) said to Al-Mufaddal (peace comes from him): "That ram by which Hussein was ransomed was Al-Adlam, the Adlam of Quraish, and he is the Second. He was on that day in the composition (tarkib) of a ram; he was brought and slaughtered. Did you not see his two horns hanging in the House?" I said: "Yes."
