The wicked is a ransom for the righteous.1
"Therefore, Cain, because of his hatred for his brother, passed from life to death. So the one who truly died was Cain, not Abel."2
"But their souls cannot be approached. Rather, the sword returns upon the soul of the oppressor and kills it."
"It also encourages the suffering Church not to fear what the Anti-Christ will do, as his work will return upon him. For 'If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he must be killed.' Here is the patience and faith of the saints."3
"You were mocked by the wicked because You are holy. Your life became a burden to them because it condemns them. They decided to get rid of You. They plotted Your killing, but they killed themselves."4
"While they are busy plotting conspiracies and setting hidden snares, behold, God frustrates their plans."5
"These (wicked) people, their tongues, according to the witness of the Psalmist, are a sharp sword, and their teeth are spears and arrows."6
"But the strange thing is that while they attack others, they do not harm them. Rather, they tear themselves apart with their own tongues, because they carry within them anger, resentment, envy, deceit, hatred, and bitterness."7
The Lord revealed to him the conspiracy they had plotted for his destruction. The One who had previously assured him, while he was still a boy, revealed it to him: "Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you," declares the Lord.8
