He cast the similitude upon the one who intended to kill him, so he was killed instead of him! Thus, the one killed is the Opponent (Al-Ḍidd)!

If we understood this report along with the concept of repeating the scenarios that occurred in previous nations, it would be sufficient to clarify the matter for whoever seeks proof.

Despite this, some will turn back on their heels and deny, because the matter is contrary to what their fathers and grandfathers were upon. Nevertheless, we will present the rest of the texts, and whoever wills, let him believe, and whoever wills, let him disbelieve.

Our Master Amir Al-Mouminine, may his glory be exalted, said to Salmān, from him is peace: "Know, O Salmān, that My Name, you, and the people of My sacred ranks; slaughter and killing and events like the events of human beings and the world of murkiness do not befall us. And all of that befalls the Opponents."1

Yes, as we mentioned, the companions of Al-Hussein, may his glory be exalted, did not feel the pain of killing.

Our Master Amir Al-Mouminine, may his glory be exalted, while speaking about his name Jesus son of Mary, may his glory be exalted, said: "And I showed them My name weakness, and they thought that they had seized him, imprisoned him, crucified him, and killed him. That was when My name cast the similitude upon Naḥt bin Shumān the Jew, who was the greatest of the Jewish scholars, and he is the Opponent whom the Jews saw in the image of My name Jesus."2

As for the events of the people of Light, they are Light within Light, and each one of them is a spirit for the one below him, and the whole is one Light. And know that whatever sins the spirit commits, it befalls the body of the disbelieving Opponent.3
