This segment from the Ziyarah of our Master Abu Al-Fadl is constantly recited by all those who profess this matter. So what is the meaning of humiliation and punishment?
Humiliation is belittlement and contempt, and punishment is the practice of various forms of harm and torture on a person before or after death. If the reality of the matter were as the Muqassirah narrate and assume, then the severest forms of punishment would have occurred, for according to your claim, his hands and legs were severed, his eye was struck, his head was cut off, and his body was mutilated! Then you claim that their clothes were stripped! Is there anything that humiliates a person more than this?!
Your hearts and insights have been blinded, by God, you have been inverted, and God has deceived you until you read such phrases without comprehending them, becoming like a donkey carrying books.
Magnificent is our Mawlana, the Bearer of the Banner. Master Muhammad, may his glory be exalted, said to our Mawlana Amir Al-Mouminine, may his glory be exalted: 'O Ali, you are the bearer of my banner, and you will enter Paradise before me!'
A forbearing person is satisfied with a mere hint!
Khalid ibn Zayd Al-Ju'fi said that our Master Al-Baqir, may his glory be exalted, said: 'As for the person of Muhammad in His reality, He never ceased to exist, nor was He hidden, nor did He flee, nor did any harm befall Him. Rather, the similitude (A-ttashbih) occurred.'1
This hadith is from the sources of the Batriyyah Isma'ili group, and it is one of the crushing proofs against the Muqassirah (the deficient group), because the Isma'ili is a Waqifi (one who stops at a certain Imam), and it is permissible to take a hadith from a Waqifi. For the Muqassirah, they do not consider the Isma'ilis to be among the Ghulat (Exaggerators)!
Today, the writings of "Al-Qadi Abu Hanifah Al-Nu'man Al-Isma'ili"—his hadith is found among the books of the Muqassirah (deficient group) in their jurisprudential research, and they rely on it as well.
