This state applies to the believing affirmers of their Mawali, magnificent is His glory, with acceptance and submission. This state also applies to the Opponents (Al-Adad), may God curse them. The Opponents grieve and rejoice for their followers, parties, and lovers. Therefore, when the Opponent is mentioned, it is not mandatory that it refers to Umar ibn Al-Khattab or Abu Bakr, may God curse them and their followers, but rather to anyone who resembles them in speech and action, who deserves killing and exemplary punishment on any day, and so forth, from the laws of divine punishments on the disbelievers, deniers, and rejecters.

The Other Report in the Noble Book Al-Haft

Al-Mufaddal, peace comes from him, said: I asked: "O my Master (Mawla Ja'far Al-Sadiq, exalted is His glory), tell me about the story of Al-Husayn, how did His killing and slaughter become ambiguous to the people when they intended it?" He said: "Just as the killing of the Messiah became ambiguous to those who were before them. This is a secret from God's secrets that was obscured from people, but His elite, His close friends, the chosen ones among His servants, and the specialized among His creation knew it: that the Imam enters the body.1 When they gathered to slaughter Al-Husayn, He exited His body, and God raised Him to Himself and prevented the enemies from reaching Him. He was angered that day against His enemies with the anger of a Compeller whose greatness the heavens, the earth, and the mountains cannot withstand. He was about to hasten their punishment, but He is Forbearing, yet Possessor of Vengeance, who does not fear failure nor break His promise. There is no appeal against His judgment, just as He described Himself, Glorified be He, doing what He wills and manifesting in any veil He wills. Only he who fears failure hastens, but He who, when He wills to create something, says to it, 'Be,' and it is, does not hasten.

Footnotes

1Here, He means the nominal manifestation (Al-Zuhur Al-Ismi) of the Name, magnificent is His glory. He does not mean the Meaning (Al-Ma'na), Glorified be He. For the Meaning does not enter into anything nor does it leave anything, Glorified be He. He does not change through forms. Rather, the change, the forms, and all the designs occur in the eye of the beholders, not in Him, Glorified be He. However, when the Meaning manifests through His Name as an honour, just as Ali manifested in Al-Husayn at Karbala, the Meaning conceals His Name beneath the brilliance of His Light, willingly, not reluctantly, and exits from it when He wills, willingly, not reluctantly, just as one of you takes off his cloak or shirt without reluctance or doubt.
