Then he said: 'O Ammar, stretch your eyes and look at what you see!' I stretched my eyes, and behold, the land we were on had become a great sea, and its waves were like the firmly fixed mountains. And behold, Amir Al-Mouminine, may his glory be exalted, and Al-Hasan and Al-Hussein were standing on a high place of the earth. I looked at the army of Amir Al-Mouminine, may his glory be exalted, marching as it marches on land, over the water. I said: 'O my Master, be gentle with Ammar.' He said: 'Know, O Ammar, had it not been for the gentleness of your Master with you, you would have perished instantly.' I fell on my face, prostrating on the bow of my saddle, and he called out to me: 'Raise your head.' I raised my head, looking, and behold, he was in the place where he was marching with the army, the army was marching in its place, and likewise Al-Hussein. I increased in praising my Master and thanking His favors upon me. Nothing of that seemed difficult for my Master, rather it returned to me as if it had not happened."

From the Book Al-Tajrid

"Similar to that among the reports is what was narrated by Shaykh Abu Al-Husayn Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Jilli, who said: My Shaykh Abu Abdullah Al-Husayn ibn Hamdan Al-Khasibi, may God brighten his face, narrated to me, saying: Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn Malik Al-Kufi narrated to me, from Muhammad ibn Yazid Al-Hamdani, from Al-Mukhawwal ibn Ibrahim, from Ja'far ibn Muhammad, from Yunus ibn Zabyan, with his chain of transmission, from Ammar ibn Yasir, peace be upon them, who said:

Our Mawlana Amir Al-Mouminine, exalted is His glory, traveled from Kufa heading to Siffin. He took the path of Al-Tufuf and Wadi Al-`Alqami. He said: When we reached the land of Karbala, he stopped there, then said: 'O Ammar, do you know this place?' I said: 'No, by God, truly. Which springs do you mean?' He said: 'Look at it.' I looked at it, and behold, I saw the Messenger of God, exalted is His glory. I said: 'O my Mawla, is this Muhammad, the Messenger of God, exalted is His glory?' He said: 'Yes, He is also Al-Husayn, and He is the Master of the Mi'raj (Ascension).' I said: 'O my Master, why do we say that Muhammad is absent from us?' He said: 'O Ammar, Muhammad is neither absent nor does he change; rather, He changes the minds' ability to recognize and comprehend Him. No one truly knows His reality and essence except the ultimate Goal above Him. As for those below Him, no one can attain anything of His essence and being.'
