I said: 'O my Master, you are more knowledgeable, wiser, mightier, and more overpowering!' He said: 'O Ammar, look. I only show you this because I want to conceal you from your current existence, and your Master will manifest you with the favor He deems fit for you.' I said: 'O my Master, where is our camp?' He said: 'Here it is, do you not see it?' I said: 'No, by Allah, I do not see it.' He said: 'O Ammar, look.' I looked, and behold, the army was standing, imagined by me as if it were marching. I said: 'By Allah, O my Master, this is our army.' I saw Al-Hasan and Al-Hussein, may their glories be exalted, and Muhammad bin Al-Hanafiyyah, each in the place that Amir Al-Mouminine had arranged for him. Al-Hussein was at this time on the right flank, Al-Hasan on the left flank, and Muhammad bin Al-Hanafiyyah in the rear, and Amir Al-Mouminine, may his glory be exalted, was at the vanguard. The army was moving in its proper formation, without any change in its essence. I looked at myself and Amir Al-Mouminine, may his glory be exalted, in that place, and I said: 'This is one of the wonders of Amir Al-Mouminine, that Al-Hasan and Al-Hussein are standing in this place while they are in their places in the marching army.' As I was doing that, I saw the vanguard of a great army, with banners, flags, divisions, men, and riders, heading towards those tents and the small group that included Al-Abbas. I was looking at them until I saw Al-Hussein in their midst. I said: 'O my Master, shall I go to them?' He said: 'What are you saying, O Ammar? Is this not Al-Hussein standing?' By Allah, I saw the attack, the counter-attack, and the fighting, but I did not see Al-Hussein carrying out an attack or passing by except in the right flank, those who were around the tents. He was standing with me and with Amir Al-Mouminine, may his glory be exalted, without moving or departing. That did not cease until no one from the group was left but was killed. I saw Al-Abbas with his legs cut off, kneeling on his knees until he was killed. I said: 'O Amir Al-Mouminine, we are aiming for Mu'awiya to fight and kill him, and he is in Syria, but his detachments and vanguard have surrounded us, and they are killing those who are with Al-Hussein until they have annihilated them, and we are standing. Permit me to charge at them and repel them, or command the army to overwhelm them and destroy them.'
