I said: 'O my Master, this is the Messenger of Allah alive with us!' He said: 'He is the Messenger of Allah, he is Muhammad, he is Al-Hussein, and he is the one of the Ascension!' I said: 'O my Master, why do we say that Master Muhammad is hidden from us?' He said: 'O Ammar, Muhammad is never hidden and never changes. Rather, it is the understandings that are turned away from knowing and comprehending him. No one truly knows him and his essence except the Ultimate Goal who is above him. As for those below him, none of them can grasp anything of his essence and nature.' I kept looking at Al-Hussein, and he was Muhammad, without a doubt, until Al-Hussein approached, and I saw Al-Hussein as Muhammad. I said: 'This is Al-Hussein in form, and all are one.' He said: 'Yes, O Ammar, they are one, neither divisible nor fragmentable.' Then, he pointed to the ground, and it split into rivers, and trees, palms, and fruits grew upon it, and every kind ripened. I saw men, numbering more than sixty, some mounted and some on foot, tents, women, and children. I said to myself: 'I know this place to be a barren wilderness. When did this happen that I am witnessing?' He said to me: 'O Ammar, do you know what this is?' I said: 'O my Master, you are more knowledgeable about what you have asked me, and I have no knowledge of it except from you!' He said: 'O Ammar, what you see here will be a trial and a lesson, just as it was with Jesus son of Mary, when a similitude was cast for the creation. This will happen to him as you see.' I said: 'What are you showing me?' He said: 'O Ammar, look at what you see from me, which you desire to be, and I have informed Al-Hussein of his description, and he is the manifest Muhammad.' I said: 'What is it, O my Master, and what did you inform him?' He said: 'Muhammad was informed that Al-Hussein will be killed in Karbala, and that the army of Yazid bin Mu'awiya will kill him and march with his head to Syria. This is Al-Hussein, who is the informed Muhammad, these are the tents of his women and children who are with him, and these are his companions who will be killed with him.' I looked at Al-Abbas bin Ali among those I saw. He said: 'O Ammar, I will reveal to you the explanation of this from what you witness before its existence, so you may know that it is existent before its formation and manifestation. This world says that the things that happen in the world are events that happen at their time and come into being, and they were not formed before their existence. This is not as they say, because the things that have been formed from the time of eternity until their concealment are formed along with their manifestation, and their cessation along with it is not due to the creation of incidents.'
