Otherwise, what is the sin of that skin in which he did not disobey Allah, that it is punished with torment?
And were it not that the reality of the torment is for the soul, and the pain reaches it and not [the skin], the replacement would not be permissible because it [the skin] does not feel anything. And the "skins" that Allah replaces are the metamorphic forms [bodies] and the compositions in slaughter animals and others among the types of torment.
I ask Allah to protect us from ignorance; indeed, He is over all things competent.
If you say: "Why did He place in the creation the capacity for evil so that they disobey Him if they do it? And why did He enable them to do it? And why did He not make for them a way only to good? And [why] did He make for them a way to disobedience, so it becomes a cause for their destruction and their torment?" This, by my life, is a question containing difficulty, so contemplate its meaning and it will become clear to you, God willing.
The answer: Indeed, Allah created the thing and its opposite as a proof of His Oneness, pointing by it to Him, and due to the need of the created beings for it.
