Meaning, [he is] visible to you like you. And this answer applies to the human Veil [Hijab]. And whatever was of Power, it is attributed to the Ancient [Al-Qadim]. And the human attribute is only a Veil [Hijab] and an intermediary [Wasita] upon which the sight fell, and from which the command and prohibition came, to indicate by that the Batin [Inner] through which He appears, because there is no speech except from the image [Suwar].

If you say: You have established that the Creator [Al-Bari], Exalted is He, is capable of all things, so how did He not make all creation capable of knowing Him [Ma'rifa] and prevent them from denial?

The answer: I have clarified to you that when He created the creation, He placed in them a single, equal capacity [Istita'a], and empowered them for acknowledgment [Iqrar] with neither obedience nor disobedience [pre-determined]; rather, He made the capacity in them one. Then He veiled Himself [Ihtajaba] by His creation, and spoke from that Veil [Hijab], and manifested the Power [Qudra] from it so that it would be a proof of His Eternity [Qidam]. So whoever acknowledged acknowledged, and whoever denied denied. And had He compelled them to obedience and disobedience, He would have departed thereby from the limit of Justice [Adl].
