While we attribute to Justice that He mandated Knowledge [Ma'rifa] upon them and made the reward for it a recompense, and sufficed them from ignorance, and made the penalty for it a punishment.
And everything the Sharias [Laws] brought of lawful and unlawful, commands and prohibitions, they are figures [Ashkhas] indicating a single meaning: figures Allah, Mighty and Majestic, commanded to be known and obeyed, and figures Allah forbade and commanded dissociation from. All of that calls to a single meaning and indicates a single meaning in the Batin [Inner]. And this is present with us, taken by submission from the Truthful Ones [Al-Sadiqin], peace be upon them, since the principles have been proven by inspection.
And Allah has said in His Noble Book: (They said, "O Shu'ayb, does your prayer command you that we should leave what our fathers worship?")1.
And He said: (Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing)2.
And He said: (And he mentions the name of his Lord and prays)3.
