"THE SIXTH CHAPTER"

"On the Indication of the Contradiction of the Exoteric and the Agreement of the Esoteric and its Affirmation"

"And the Definition that the Quran has an Outward (Zahir) and an Inward (Batin)"

God, the Exalted, said: {And no one knows its interpretation except Allah...} Here is the pause, then He recommenced and said: {And those firm in knowledge say: We believe in it. All is from our Lord}1.

So "those firm" (al-rasikhun) is in the nominative case due to inception (isti'naf), not by conjunction with "Allah"; and He named them "firm" because of their submission.

And He, the Exalted, said: {And their saying: We killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah. And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but it was made to resemble [that] to them}2.

And He, Mighty and Majestic, said: {And We turn their hearts and their eyes, just as they did not believe in it the first time. And We leave them in their transgression, wandering blindly}3.
