If you say: "[It occurred] by His power," then the Power is eternal, and the created cannot understand from it.

If you say: "The Creator (al-Bari) is not unable to make him understand His command and prohibition even if he were created, for the Creator, Exalted is He, is not incapacitated by anything," [we reply that] one only infers the possible from the possible, and the present visible reality (al-shahid) upon the absent reality (al-gha'ib).

If you say: "The Creator, Exalted is He, is able to make the created understand His command and prohibition," we bind you [with this argument]: Is the Creator able to create His like?

And if He were able to create His like, would [that like] be equal to Him?

This is impossible, and God has made it an impossibility.

We also state something that indicates its impossibility: Is the Creator able to gather the heavens and the earth inside the shell of an almond, such that neither the heavens nor the earth shrink, nor does the shell expand? This is also impossible. If it were possible, there would be a proof for it from reason to witness for it. Thus, the corruption of your position has become clear.
