Then he clarified that with his saying: "And had the Thing been more distinct than the Body, your argument would have appeared [valid]."

And his saying: "And weakness enters the Thing from five aspects because it is an accident, and the accident does not subsist by itself... etc.", he intended by all of them the accident. And the Example (al-Mithal) is that by which death appears, and that is an accident in the eyes of those looking at it.[Do you not see that the Speaker (al-Natiq) is the Body, and the Silent (al-Samit) is the Thing].

So if the Speaker appears at [the time of] death, the Thing becomes void1.

So what is seen on the washing slab is the Thing, and it is the Silent one; and the Form subsists, which is the Body that is called [The Trustee/Executor (Wasi) of the Imam] after the Imam.

Statement of that: Indeed, Ja'far al-Sadiq, may his might be exalted, is the Speaker (al-Natiq), and the Silent One (al-Samit) is Musa, and the Example (al-Mithal) is Muhammad, and he is the one who was seen at the washing place in the eyes of the Mixed Ones (al-Mamzujin); and the one who undertook the Command after him is the Speaker.
