And there is no metaphor (isti‘ārah) in the Book of God (Mighty and Majestic), because metaphor is in poetry, and looking does not fall except upon a body in ocular vision, because the body is an instrument for the One manifesting through it.
And if looking is possible on the Day of Resurrection, then why is it not possible in every age, time, moment, and epoch? And what is the impediment to that?
Indeed, whoever rejects the manifestation of Power and the miracle has belied Consensus (al-Ijma') and Transmission (al-Naql). And whoever belies Consensus and Transmission is like one who denies ocular evidence, because existents are of two divisions:
Among them is the observed, and among them is the absent upon which agreement has occurred. Like the saying of a speaker: "In the world there is a land called Jābarṣā," and consensus has occurred regarding its existence, even if we have not witnessed it with ocular vision; rather, the report is authenticated for us.
And whoever rejects that is like one who rejects that snow is white and blood is red. And three nations have agreed that Moses walked upon the sea, and God spoke to him, and He shaded the Children of Israel with clouds, and sent down Manna and Salwa upon them.
