Which possesses composed parts, in which there is no movement nor speech.
Then why would He not address them from a human, who is the noblest of the animal genera, and nobler than plants and inanimate objects? So if it is valid that He addressed him from the tree, then what of the Rational Living Being? And God has said in His Decisive Book:
{Faces, that Day, will be radiant * Looking at their Lord}1 . The People of the Law (Ahl al-Shar'), including the theologians (al-Mutakallimīn) and others, have agreed that nāḍirah [spelled] with the letter ḍād is from naḍārah (radiance), which is the luster of the face; and that nāẓirah [spelled] with the letter ẓā’ is from naẓar (looking), and that it is possible for Him to be seen by the sight of the eye.
The Ash‘ariyyah dispute with them on this and debate them regarding it, saying that the Vision is on the Day of Return.
The Imāmiyyah and the Mu‘tazilah believe that it is the sight of the heart, not the sight of the eye; and this is contrary to what is correct. Because looking belongs to the eye, and thought belongs to the heart.
