These are the attributes of the originated, and the originated cannot perceive the Eternal, because it is not within its capability to perceive anything but its like."
We say: The Eternal did not depart from the quiddity of perfection in His manifestation to humans as a human; rather, He manifested a form in which there is a sign of existence and a negation of non-existence.
The proof of that is the power He manifested which violated the natural order, for it is not within the capacity of the creation to produce the like of it. From that form, He manifested a power which the created beings were incapable of; so that power is an indication that His power is [manifest] within that power. That form is not His form in reality; rather, it is apparent in the eyes of humans as a human, in the form of a powerless human. So we knew that that form is unlike what it appears to be regarding human composition, and that the Eternal manifested through it to affirm His existence, and so that His manifestation might be valid for humans, and that its reality is neither sensed nor perceived.
And thus, whoever from whom power is manifested does not possess a form that falls under limitation; rather, He manifested it as an affirmation and an origination, as truth and certainty, and as distinct sight and explanation—not as a whole, nor as a collection, nor as an encompassment, nor as a restriction.
