So just as the existence of fire is not possible except in a body to which it attaches because it is simple, likewise the Spirit is not seen except in a body.
and it [the Spirit] must necessarily have a body.
And Aristotle (Aristalis) has said: "Verily, it is the perfection of the natural body whose life is in potentiality."And he mentioned that it possesses instruments—two hands, two legs, and two eyes; all of that is an instrument for the Spirit which moves it all. And we will fully cover that in the Chapter on the Indication of Transmigration (al-Tanasukh), if Allah wills.
Then, we return the discourse to the statement I mentioned regarding [the claim] that the Maker has a maker. I have traced the sequence for you of the composite from a composite until the statement ended at Nature. And I established that Nature has an Originator (Muhdith) who is Eternal (Qadim) to every eternal thing.
We have inferred Him through His acts without touching Him with a sense.
And if we were to permit the statement that the Maker has a maker, it would be necessary that for that maker there be a maker, ad infinitum (ila ma la nihaya lahu), and that is impossible and invalid.
