And if you say: "Nature is what harmonized it," we say to you: With knowledge from it, or without knowledge?
So if you say: "With knowledge from it," we require you to establish the proof, and you shall not be capable of that, because we [know that] every element of this Nature does not know anything nor sense anything.
And if you say: "It does that out of ignorance on its part, not out of knowledge," then the agreement would not be from a harmonizer knowing what it harmonizes. Thus, if you acknowledge the Harmonizer between these four elements, then the affirmation of the Maker who harmonized between them becomes binding upon you.
So the Composite Bodies become eternal (qadimah) relative to it [Nature], but originated (muhdatha) relative to the Harmonizer. And this is something that cannot be repelled.
So if you oppose our statement: "There must be for every craft [made thing] a Maker, and our indication is that we have not found a building except that it has a builder, nor a writing except that it has a writer," and you say: "It is necessary, according to this infinite regress (tasalsul), that for that Maker there be a maker, and for this maker a maker... etc."
