So among them are those upon whom repetition in the Madhbuhat [slaughtered ones] is incumbent more than what is incumbent upon those generated from the predators, the wolves, and the monkeys, and the categories of that. And all that is in this world of animals, reward and punishment runs upon it.
Indeed, the heavy loads that are carried upon the camels and the mules, and traverse the deserts and the wildernesses, do they not feel the pain of that? And the camels, the cattle, the sheep, and the goats, upon which slaughter is executed, do they not also feel the pain of that?
Then we return to the analogy of the reasonable in this and say: Which of the two is more beloved to you: that you be in this Speaking [Rational] Shirt [Qamis], Sensing, Perceiving, or that you be a predator, or a beast in the wilderness having no sense [of self]?
However, I say to you: Indeed, the ignorant man does not desire to be a knowledgeable one [Scholar], because he has been denied this virtue, so he does not feel the sweetness of knowledge. And he has been denied this sensation by his ignorance, and he found for himself comfort in abandoning knowledge because he empties his thought from the fatigue of it, and the thinking about it. And that is [because] he takes pleasure in edibles, drinkables, and copulations, while he knows nothing, and does not love to be knowledgeable.
