THE TWELFTH CHAPTER

"ON THE END OF THE BELIEVER AND THE DISBELIEVER, AND WHAT THEY BECOME?"

Know, may Allah inspire you with rectitude, that the believer undergoes Naskh [Transmigration], and the disbeliever undergoes Maskh [Metamorphosis].

So Naskh is an expression of the transfer of the human form to a form like it; it does not depart from the human form until it becomes pure and ascends to the World of the Intellect, and it consists of sensing, perceiving figures in the stations of the stars that are seen, and they are not arranged [The World of Intellect which Plato mentioned].

And the disbeliever rides into the Markusat [inverted ones] and the Ma'kusat [reversed ones] and the Madhbuhat1 [slaughtered ones] and the rest of the categories of the Chain which Allah the Exalted mentioned in His Book, for He said: (Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits, insert him)2.

Footnotes

1Al-Naskh: The transfer of the soul from a human body to a human body.Al-Maskh: The transfer of the soul from the body of a human to the body of an animal.Al-Raks or Al-Rajs: The ugly deed.Al-'Akisa: A large number of camels.
