Thus, He informed and clarified by His saying that he is unable to mislead them. And Allah the Exalted has said, informing about his capability, that it remains with him, by His saying: (And incite [to noise/confusion] whoever you can among them with your voice and rally against them with your cavalry and your infantry and share with them in wealth and children and promise them. But Satan does not promise them except delusion)1.
He clarified by this saying that he has capability, and that he has cavalry and infantry. And likewise was the deed of Sakad: he took the wealth, commanded and forbade, led them to places of destruction, and misled them from the path of guidance—may Allah seek refuge for us and you from him, and from his party, his faction, his soldiers, his cavalry, and his men.
AL-SHAYTAN: As for Al-Shaytan [Satan], it is a name that applies to everyone prominent in disbelief. This name is taken from "length" and "extremity" in a thing. Do you not see that if it is said: "So-and-so is skillful in his craft," it is said by way of joking: "He is nothing but a Shaytan."
