Then He said after a long speech: Then God created the First Light and the Fire, so the Light was veiled by the Water.
Then He created the Water, so the Wind was veiled by it. Then He created the Clay, so the Water was veiled by it.
So these are the paths and the strips1 from which the fleshy, bloody bodies are composed.
And the Light, the Angels were created from it, formed.
And the Water, Humans were created from it, formed.
And the Fire, the Jinn were created from it, formed.
And the Clay is the form of Adam. And the saying has preceded that this name bears two meanings.
The first of them: The creation of Adam: meaning these natural bodies from the Light, the Fire, the Wind, the Water, and the Clay.
So the human came to eat and drink by the Fire.
And copulate and smell by the Wind.
And find the pleasure of food and drink by the Water.
And see and work by the Light.
So were it not for the Fire that is in his stomach, it would not cook food or drink.
