He said: "Praise be to Allah, by whose grace good deeds are completed, by whose hand blessings flow, and through whose Gnosis doubts vanish. May Allah bless our master Muhammad and his family and grant them abundant peace."
Know, may Allah support you, that the Meaning (al-Ma'na) is One, Individual, Eternal Besought; He is not known through other than Himself, and He created him by which they may know Him; for every image through which the Meaning (al-Ma'na) manifests is an attribute among His attributes and a name among His names. Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He, is not subject to any attribute or limit, nor does He have a name or an attribute [inherent to His essence]; for His Name is other than Him, and He is other than His Name, and His attribute is other than Him, and He is other than His attribute. Exalted is the Pre-eternal (alAzal) beyond being limited, described, or seen, except through what He willed of His names which He extracted1 for Himself, making them manifest, luminous names and speech.
His names are other than Him, and He is other than them, as in His saying, the Exalted: "Allah—there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names"2and His saying, the Exalted: "And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them" 3.
