Depilatory cream (Al-Nura) is a purification for the body, and Al-Nura is gnosis. Whosoever knows Allah—Glory be to Him—his body is purified. The praised Nura wards off doubt from the believer, because hair represents doubt; thus, when one applies Nura (attains illumination), he casts away from himself doubt and polytheism (Shirk). Wearing white garments is an adornment for the Muslim man.
Its meaning is: the knowledge of the inward sciences (Ulum Allah al-Batina) is an adornment for the believer; for whosoever knows that, his faith is perfected. Trimming the nails prevents the greatest disease and increases provision, as in the verse: {And consume it not wastefully and hastily ere they grow up}1. Its meaning is: the knowledge of the Ten Speakers (Al-Nawatiq al-'Ashara), regarding whom He —Glory be to Him—said: {Those are ten complete}2. These are the regions (Fatir), and warding off the Ten Opposites (Al-Ad-dad al-Ashara) and disassociating from them.
