Trimming the mustache is a cleanliness for the body. The "mustache" (al-Sharib) represents Aisha the Breaker [of the covenant], because the mustache represents the breath of the slanderers, and because Aisha directed the First and the Second toward oppression, transgression, and stubbornness; so remove this stubbornness from yourselves and know your Lord with a pure heart.

As for the "Praiseworthy Mustache," it is Fatir (Fatima). The mustache is from the character of the Prophets, and the mustache in this context is Muhammad the Praiseworthy.

He says that the Gnosis of Fatir is the salvation of the Prophets. So become noble and reach the eternal Kingdom (al-Malakut), because Fatima is the Root of the stations of women through her; whosoever knows her with the truth of her Gnosis becomes a Prophet and reaches the stations of the Prophets.

The tooth-stick (al-Siwak) is a source of pleasure for Allah, a purification for the mouth, and an increase for the brain; it eases the channels of water and removes two hundred and seventy ailments. The Siwak is the Gate (al-Bab) of Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He. Through its Gnosis, a man becomes pure, increases in degree, and Allah inspires him with esoteric sciences an inspiration that removes filth from him and lifts the veil—and it was said: [lifts] the error.
