Give every form its right of bowing and prostration—meaning: establish every Station (Maqam) in its rank in which Allah has placed and ordered it, and through which He manifested Power and Speech. And let no man among you pray in a soiled shirt—meaning: do not know your Lord [only] through the Veil that has no ultimate reality, which is the human-physical nature (alBashariyya al-Nasutiyya). Rather, know Him by His Power and His Speech; for the Veils are many, but the Meaning (al-Ma'na) is the Powerful and the Speaker. Do not speak [only] of the Veil or the form, but speak of the Meaning that created the form and the Veil.

And do not speak of the possessor of Speech without Power, for the possessor of Speech errs and hits the mark, whereas the Possessor of Power is purified from opacity; He does not err in His word, nor does He claim that of which He has no knowledge. He is correct at all times. So if you see a Possessor of Power or a miracle that all of creation is incapable of, ask Him about His station, and believe everything He tells you, for the Possessor of Power does not claim what is not His.

Be as a single soul, and overlook the lapses of the believers. For by Him in whose hand is my soul, the believer is more intensely connected to Allah than the sun's ray is to the sun. There is no difference between the light and its source. The Sun is Muhammad—Majestic is his mention; the Ray represents the Silent Veils (al-Hujub al-Sawamit)—Majestic is their mention; the Light is the believer; and its Source is Muhammad.
