All of these are Truth, for the Commander of the Faithful is their Planner, their Establisher, and the One veiled by them—not in the sense that He inhabited them or spoke from within them, but rather He veiled Himself with the father, the mother, the brothers, the sisters, the paternal uncle, the paternal aunt, the son, and the daughter. The maternal uncle, the maternal aunt, the husband, the wife, the male in-law, and the female in-law. He veiled Himself with the People of the House (Ahl al-Bayt) without having transferred from one house to another or from one abode to another.
For He, Mighty and Majestic is He, showed Himself like His creation through the form of Imam after Imam, without ever departing from His Essence. He diverted the eyes of the created beings from looking upon Him in His [true] modality. He—Majestic and Exalted—does not shift or vanish from one state to another, nor from one temple (haykal) to another. Nothing encompasses Him, no place contains Him, nothing counts Him, and number does not apply to Him. He is neither partitioned, nor divided, nor resembled, nor scattered, nor branched out. Rather, He is One, Individual, Eternal Besought; He shows Himself how He wills, to whom He wills, and as He wills—each according to the measure of Light within them. This is the description of the Lord, Majestic is His Power.
As for the Five Rivers: the Euphrates is Muhammad, the Nile is Fatir (Fatima), Sayhun is al-Hasan, Jayhun is alHusayn, and Mehran is Muhsin—Majestic and Exalted is my Lord.
