When You Mount the Beasts:
"When you mount the beasts—and they are this inverted creation (al-khalq al-mankus)—then say: 'That you may sit firm upon their backs, and then remember the favor of your Lord. And when you sit firm upon them, say: {Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we could never have achieved it [by ourselves]. And indeed, to our Lord we shall return.'}1.
O Allah, we are Your servants who acknowledge Your Oneness, who recognize Your Paradise and Your Fire; do not abase us after You have honored us, and do not lead us out from the Light into the darkness. O Allah, we are content with what You have apportioned for us, whether of abundance in living or its hardship. O Allah, let nothing cross our hearts except Your gnosis and Your esoteric sciences ('ulumika al-batina), flowing from You to Your friends (awliya'), who surround Your Throne. Do this for us, O Exalted (Ali), O Great (Adhim). There is no servant but that he possesses one of three traits: 'omening (tiyara), yearning, or arrogance.'
