If one of you enters the butchers' market:
When one of you enters the butchers' market and sees the sheep and cows slaughtered and hung, let him say: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah who does not wrong anyone. O Allah, I disavow to You their flesh and their blood, and I bear witness to their straying. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from taking their place or standing in their station. O Allah, make me among the slaughterers and do not make me among the slaughtered."
If something of their worldly goods reaches you:
When something of their worldly goods reaches you, say: "O Allah, if this thing was destined for us before them, then we praise You for that. If it was a favor from them to us, then ease that for us and make it absolutely lawful, with no return and no claim. And if it was otherwise, then do not punish us for it; for the Lawful (al-Halal) and the Forbidden (al-Haram), between them, are persons of Light and Darkness. The Lawful are persons You commanded us to obey and know, and the Forbidden are persons You commanded us to avoid and forbade us from.
