When the second Friday comes, he begins with the pinky of the left hand and clips his nails as we mentioned until he reaches his right pinky and leaves it. For the pinky is the Root (al-Asl), and it is Fatima, from whom the springs of Grandeur burst forth, and upon whose Gnosis (Ma'rifa) the first generations revolved. And he protects [himself]

So it is obligatory for the believer to clip his nails every Friday according to what whave clarified: once with his right hand and once with his left hand, or leaving the pinky of the right hand one Friday and the pinky of the left hand the [next] Friday, according to the calculation we mentioned. When he finishes clipping his nails:

Let him say: "I bear witness that You, my Master, are the Root of Roots, the Perpetuator of Eternity, and the Preexistent Creator. You created and excelled; You formed and enlightened; You completed and established, thus manifesting; You named and exalted; You spoke and perfected with wisdom and completion; You remained hidden and then announced; and how many a call have You answered. Praise be to You; Glory be to You, O Ali, O Great One. How great is Your state, how majestic is Your mention, how luminous is Your sanctity, how splendid is Your form, how pure is Your knowledge, how excellent is Your forbearance, and how perfect is Your creation."
