If one of you combs [his hair] and dresses his beard:

And if one of you combs [his hair] and dresses his beard, let him say: "O Allah, adorn me and create [for] me [a noble character], and do not replace me with another, for I am among the thankful for Your grace and the praisers for Your bounties. O Allah, show me the Truth as truth that I may follow it—and the Truth is Your Greatest Orphan (al-Yatim al-Akbar)—and show me Falsehood as falsehood that I may avoid it—and Falsehood is an enemy to You, my Master. Complete my good deeds for me."

If one of you uses a toothpick:

If one of you uses a toothpick, let him say: "O Allah, pluck out from me rancor and envy, and strengthen me 1 with Your weapon—which is Your Minor Orphan (al-Yatim alAsghar)—to rescue my soul therein from the traps of the rebellious and the misery of poverty. O Allah, do that for me exoterically and esoterically."

If one of you clips his nails:

And if one of you clips his nails, let him say: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, Creator of the Names." Let him begin with his right hand, and let that be on the morning of Friday until he reaches the thumb; then he returns to the pinky finger and does not clip it.
