Likewise, from the scholar and from his presence, the esoteric sciences (al-Ulum al-Batina) flow, through which rusted hearts are polished when they act upon them.

The worst of the Jews are the Determiners (alMuqazzimana), the worst of the Christians are the Delegators (al-Mufawwida), the worst of the Magians are the Zaydis, and worse than that is denial and rejection; through denial, they shall suffer metamorphosis (alMusukhiyya) within the painful torment. The best of what the believer attains is Purity (al-Safwa) and ascension in Gnosis (Ma'rifa).
