The believer is the mirror of his believing brother— meaning: he gives him of the esoteric sciences when he is present, and supplicates for him when he is absent, and exalts his status among the believers. He is not of us—the folk of faith—who corrupts a disciple against his Master. Gnosis is the adornment of the believer, knowledge honors him, action is his faith, and Monotheism (Tawhid) is his divinity.

Beware of the dispute of the polytheists and do not fight them; it was said: do not sit with them lest they mislead you, for the disputer is in the Fire. Submit to your scholars through that which you gain in understanding of the esoteric sciences, that you may be safe from hardship and affliction. However much a man increases in Gnosis and faith in his Lord, let him increase in love, devotion, and recognition toward the believers.

Do not doubt the two Orphans (al-Yatimayn), for whosoever doubts them has perished. Whosoever follows the Opposites (al-Addad) and cuts off his brothers has distanced himself from Allah, "and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers"1.

The best of believers is he who has not approached the Opposites. If you desire proximity to Allah, then draw near through the esoteric aspects of His knowledge.
