"Those who strive upon earth to cause corruption" are the Opposites (al-Addad); and "the earth" refers to the Gates (al-Abwab) and the holders of ranks, such as the Orphans (al-Aytam), the Chiefs (al-Nuqaba), the Nobles (al-Najaba), the Select (al-Mukhtassin), the Sincere (al-Mukhlisin), the Tested (al-Mumtahanin), the Believers, and all the folk of the ranks, each according to his measure. "That they be killed," meaning: they disbelieve. "Or crucified," and crucifixion is their expulsion. "Or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides," meaning: they are denied the esoteric sciences (al-Ulum al-Batina), so they are left to revel in their desires. "And they be exiled from the land," [meaning] they are not spoken to, nor associated with, and they exit the boundary of Faith into the boundary of denial and rejection. "That is for them a disgrace in this world" due to their ill-treatment of the believers, "and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment"—that is, the punishment of the Fire within the narrow structures (al-Hayakil al-Dayyiqa) upon which slaughter is carried out at every moment and time.

Whosoever seeks refuge from Satan, grant him refuge. And whosoever asks you to remove Satan and doubts from himself through the sciences, give to him according to his measure.

"Bind" your children, meaning: bring them out from the darkness into the light; and the shedding of hair is the purging of darkness. If the deserving seeker, the one who seeks the Gnosis (Ma'rifa) of Allah, comes to you, give him from the crumbs of your tables.
